Dreamy Devils Lake State Park Spring Engagement | Jackie + Darrell

Jackie and Darrell are such a sweet, fun-loving couple who were not afraid of a little rain and wind during their engagement session at Devils Lake State Park. Despite the weather, we were able to capture some beautiful moments that truly showcased their love for each other.

We started the session on the beach, where the wind was blowing and the waves were crashing. The weather may have been gloomy, but Jackie and Darrell’s energy was anything but. They danced around in the sand, twirling and laughing, and their love for each other was absolutely infectious. The overcast sky actually created a beautiful diffused light that made for some stunning photos.

After our time on the beach, we decided to hike up to Balanced Rock to capture the stunning views overlooking the lake. We took our time, stopping to capture photos along the way. Once we reached the top, the view was absolutely breathtaking. And of course, we got a photo of them by the rock formation because it was so cool! My favorite part about the hike was that we had the spot completely to ourselves, which created such a romantic atmosphere that made for some stunning photos.

These two were so natural in front of the camera, and their love for each other was evident in every shot. Sessions like these make me so happy, as I get to capture the beautiful moments that showcase the love and affection they have for each other. Even with the weather not being ideal, we were able to create some amazing photos that they will cherish for years to come.
